I WILL BE GIVING TWO EXCITING TALKS AT THE EASTERN CACTUS AND SUCCULENT CONFERENCE IN PITTSBURGH AND WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU THERE. I WILL BE SPEAKING ON SUCCULENTS IN MADAGASCAR AND THE ART OF GROWING PLANTS. BOTH TALKS WILL BE ILLUSTRATED WITH MANY BEAUTIFUL AND EXCITING PHOTOGRAPHS. (I will be replacing Breck Breckenridge, who will not be there)SEE LINK ON HOME PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION................ The Art of Growing Plants: What We Can Teach Habitat About Growing and Displaying Plants In this program give, we will look at various examples of how we can actually improve on what is done in nature. This is not an erudite dissertation but a program for everybody and you will see many beautiful plants. Topics such as hybridization and selection of attractive clones will be discussed as well as how to grow more vigorous plants. Various plants such as the beautiful Haworthia, Gasteria and miniature Agave grown in Japan will be used as examples. If you are not familiar with these plants , you will not believe what has been done to improve them. We will also see many other others such as Succulent Bonsai as well as non traditional succulent plants. In addition, we will also talk about decorative containers and staging your plants for a beautiful presentation. Botanizing in Madagascar This is a slide illustrated program relating to the month long trip to Madascar which I took last year. Not only will you see many beautiful and interesting plants but also some of Madagascar\\\'s world famous animals and interesting people. Madagascar is fourth largest island in the world after Greenland, Borneo and New Guinea. It has been isolated from the African continent for so long that it hosts one of the largest groups of endemic (found in only one area) plants and animals in the world.

03 May 2006 * NEW NEWS 5-3-2006

Several people have pointed out to me that there has been no news and little website update activity during the past several months. This is the result of getting behind on many activities, many which are plant related. Rather than going up the wall trying to get everything done in one day, I am going to try a new approach. I will try and get a bit done each day and let you know via the news section of the website how things are going. When a major change is made, I will let you know via the news section as well as Email Updates for those who have subscribed to this feature. Please take a look at the new catagory,PREVIOUSLY OFFERED ITEMS. I have just started to fill this category which will contain all items which were for sale in past.

01 Oct 2005 * NEW PLANTS LISTED

Several new plants have been listed. To see these, please click on Featured Items or New Items.

01 Jun 2005 * JUNE 2005

Welcome to our new website. It may look similar to the old website but there have been many changes made that required a lot of time and effort by both me and my webmaster. This is the reason that the website has not been updated as often as it was in the past. From now on, website updates will happen much more frequently. Some of the changes made to the new site are: Better administration features which give me more flexibility. Posting of larger photographs. New categories such as Featured Items, New Items and Sale Items. Please look in the Featured Items for One of a Kind Specimen Items (i.e. the plant you see in the photograph will be the plant you receive) as well as other special items. The ability to modify shipping charges when appropriate and other features. Just a few of the new plants listed here are: special clones of Haworthia, Gasteria and Agave from Japan, specimen plants of Adenia pechuelli, Adenium swazicum, Bursera, Cnidosculus, Pentopetia, Senecio praecox. Also listed are Euphorbia trubiniformis, Eriospermum ernstii, Aloe betsesensis, Tillandsia lucida, Tillandsia prodigiosa and Tillandsia roseoscapa.

SEPTEMBER 2003 (#119) LIST OF SUCCULENTS, CAUDICIFORMS, BULBS CYCADS AND OTHER NATURAL HISTORY ITEMS
This list is short and features some new plants of the wonderful Commiphora species from Northern Somalia and Namibia as well as specimen plants of Adenia pechuellii. These plants are very difficult to get as Somalia is one of the most dangerous countries in the world to travel in and Namibia has several problems also. Many of these plants have only been recently offered and make wonderful bonsai plants. None of these are small seedlings and all possess the character and artistic beauty that only a plant grown in nature can have. As you will see, we have listed many specials here too. Many of these species can be ordered directly from the web site in the normal manner. Some items on this list are available in very limited quantities and thus have not been listed on the web site. They can however be ordered on the web site by the use of a new feature for ordering items of this nature. Please see the last portion of this list for various important types of information including how to use the new feature (PRICE ONLY SECTION) for ordering one of a kind and very limited items.
